TruCoaching

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a squash coach and to a new role that I'll be undertaking at the club later in the summer.

David Goodridge announced in the last newsletter that I will be starting at the club as it's professional, I am deeply flattered that David and the committee see me as a professional who can assist the club. The word professional to me creates the idea of working and behaving in such a way that others think of them as competent reliable and respectful, I find this description of the word professional applies to the ethics of the club and that are held by those who use the club.

I am sure many of you are aware that my wife, Rachel, and our son, Louie, also have a coaching role at the club. Rachel and Louie will be joining me to bring exciting ways of group coaching and more to the squash club we have decided to call our project TruCoaching.

We are looking forward to starting in September and from here I will be working at the club most Fridays between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I'm really looking forward to helping the club with the social media along with grant applications to help start up new groups to new audiences. Rachel and myself will continue the development of the mixed ability sessions and we are excited to be bringing a group session to the club in September on a Friday called 'Fitness Friday squash and racket ball', a session to suit all ages and standards with various aspects of fitness being focused on each week. Squash is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world and that's what we love about it. Squash involves different components of fitness and the club has an excellent fitness facility in terms of the gym and of the varried fitness classes that are delivered by the club's professional instructors. Pacie is our professional gym instructor and is very well established and well respected in many aspects of fitness training, Pacie has agreed to join us on some of the squash and racketball sessions to bring squash and racketball specific fitness to the gym and other areas. The club also has an excellent physiotherapist in Jackie Willets, Jackie is keen to join us on occasions to help with warm ups, warm downs, general flexibility and more.
Exciting times and lots to look forward to including a Family Squash and Racketball Session later in the summer.

Many thanks to David and the committee for not only giving us this opportunity but also for their support and guidance. We would also like to thank the members, without your encouragement, support and positivity we wouldn't be making this step, a step we are really looking forward to.

Kind regards

Nigel Truman
