Dear Junior Member

On behalf of our club I am writing to all participants, and their guardians, of the Junior Development Programme. Firstly, can I thank you all for your hard work and commitment, it is wonderful to see the courts being used by players who can still touch their toes!

When our founder members agreed the club’s constitution one thing was in mind, and that was, and will continue to be, the promotion of Squash within the local community with the emphasis on junior members. In order for us to fulfil our goal, the structure of coaching within the club has evolved and it must continue to do so. Over the past 18 months we have invested in new coaches who, with added enthusiasm, have not only significantly increased and improved our teaching capabilities but also provided new ideas and pathways for success.

It is wonderful to see juniors playing competitive league games and competitions along with becoming part of the playing membership and our club. Clearly coaching will provide all juniors the basic skills and knowledge so they can enjoy playing but they must also enjoy being coached.

All of the club’s coaches are more than capable of providing training for all juniors, from beginners to advanced, and therefore the club would like to promote the ethos that you should look to attend the sessions that you feel are best for you. The coaches are all there to work with you, as well as each other, in order to provide the best pathway for each junior.

Kindest regards, keep up the hard work and enjoy both playing and the club’s facilities.

David Goodridge

GSRC Chairman
