Now that the Commonwealth Games events have started today it is worth noting that the BBC's coverage will be shown throughout the day on our Bar TV until 8th August. Please feel free to enjoy a drink in the Bar while watching this or the Women's Euro Football final (England v Germany) this Sunday at 5pm. It will be good to get a crowd in.

Then, next Friday at 7.30 sees the return of the monthly Club Quiz, hosted by our very own Damian McEntegart. Please be here by 7.00 for a table and to join a team, if you prefer. £2 to enter or £3 for non-members. The roll-over prize has reached an enticing level, so well worth joining in and exercising the grey cells in a week's time.

In two month's time the Open Doubles Squash tournament returns to the club which should see teams from across the East Midlands region compete over the day. Once again, Martin Gibson is organising the event with Mark Oakes. Food prepared by Sarah Brown will be served all day for participants and spectators, so register your interest to play at gibson_martin@sky.com.

Finally, time to mention the two winners of June's prize ballot: each to receive £25 and collect from the Bar. So, congratulations to Phil Tordoff and Nick Rate. Well done!
