Re Chairman statement

I trust you are well and continuing to enjoy being part of the club.

Thank you to all involved in the very successful reinstatement of the Grantham squash tournament. Special thanks go to Clifford Rowland-Jeffers and Millie Tomlinson who managed to harmoniously to organise the running of the Pro and graded events last weekend. Pro winners were Nick Wall (England no 8) and Lucy Turmel (England no 4). Alongside these a junior graded tournament was hosted by Trucoaching on the Sunday and among the winners from the club were Parsa Sanaei, Maisie Gibson and Isabella Cuttle.

None of this would be possible without the prize money donations from MKM Building Supplies and BSW Window Solutions, as well as the hard work of all our staff and volunteers, caterers (''Pinch of Sas'' by Jo and Caz), photographer (All Photography by Amy Oakes), disco entertainment (''Perfect Sounds'' by Ray Measures), the Committee and other members who went above and beyond. In particular, special thanks to our resident Physiotherapist, Jacqui Willatts, who stepped in to assist on both days when we were shorthanded on court maintenance which was indispensible.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

I would like to anounce that the 65th AGM will be held on Wednesday 8th October at the club. As always, any suggested resolutions from members to be put forward for consideration need to be received by close of play Tuesday 23rd September.

I can also confirm that an electronic copy of last year's annual accounts will be emailed in advance of the meeting. If anyone wishes to raise anything on the night, I would be grateful if it is put in writing by 1st October, so any such matter can be answered factually.

If anyone is interested to stand for committee, can they make themselves known at the AGM (or in writing beforehand) and attend the election of officers meeting which is due to be held on 20th October.

SQUASH COACHES

After many years of sterling service at the club I have to announce the retirement of Del House and Colin Gibson and would like to express sincere appreciation for all thw work they have done to make the club what it is. Hopefully not time yet to hang up their rackets just yet! Best wishes to them both.
