Re Chairman statement

Dear [[firstname]]

I hope you are well and continuing to enjoy your club which over the coming months will hopefully see more major improvements being undertaken.

Grant Success:

The club's manager, Bryn, has been heavily involved over the past few years in sourcing potential funders and applying for grants which is painstaking work and often soul-destroying but I am delighted to announce that yet again his hardwork has been rewarded. I am delighted to announce that we have secured funding for the installation of a personnel lift and all associated works and works will start as soon as practicably possible. This may not benefit members directly but I can say with utmost certainty that it will do so indirectly by providing additional income, but more importantly it will bring access in the building up to the expected current standards. I know TruCoaching will be delighted with this, as they will be able to expand their daytime sessions working with disability groups.

Grantham Open Singles Squash Tournament:

In September the club will be hosting its first Open Singles for a number of years. This is being run by the committee, and thanks to Clifford for the work to date, and Millie Tomlinson (squash professional). The tournament will be graded with the top grade being professional players. We will be sending details of this out in the very near future.

Racket Stringing Machine:

It is with great thanks to a donation from a long-standing member that the club is able to purchase a stringing machine. The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, felt that, given the new venture with TruCoaching and the shop, this will be the “final piece of the jigsaw and see the profits stay in the club”. I will leave Nigel and Bryn to pass on the details nearer the time.

All in all, it is positive news and I will continue to look forward whilst keeping an eye on the finances, as always, should anyone want to discuss anything, please drop Bryn a note and I’m happy to talk.

Kindest regards

David Goodridge
