I am sure you are aware that the club is holding its own Open squash and racketball tournament this weekend. This year we will see more top pro squash competing with the likes of Nick Wall and Simon Herbert, as well as graded squash and racketball categories over the two days. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors for their support as this covers all our overheads, as well as the kind volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to ensure the event runs smoothly.
While these types of competition may not be suitable for you to enter, can I stress that the purpose of this event is to promote squash and racketball. I would, however, like to think you might take the opportunity to support and visit your club and bring any aspiring players to witness first-hand how the game should be played, as well as supporting our own talented players like Martin Gibson and Louie Truman among a few others.
Matches on both days start around 11am and the Pro finals will be from 4.30pm on Saturday. We are also showing Wimbledon tennis and World Cup football with a Happy Hour 8-10pm. Food is available all day, so it should be a good atmosphere, all-in-all.
