Re Chairman's Update - May 2026

I hope all is well and you are continuing to enjoy using the club. And always, if there are any concerns, feel free to raise these directly with me or a committee member. All feedback is always useful and appreciated.

As ever, things are rarely straightforward (US President etc) and adverse economic conditions, however as everyone I'm sure will appreciate, the cost of employing staff and maintaining any building continues to get more expensive. Whilst I and the Commmittee are committed to keep fees as low as reasonably possible, we have to be realistic and the club must remain viable. And for these reasons only, the committee unanimously agreed that this year's monthly fees will increase by £2 per month per category (per year for social members). This will take effect in line with the annual renewal date on 7th July and Bryn will send out information in due course. I sincerely trust, while this is not the best news, that you agree with this decision and understand the reasons for it.

On behalf of the Committee can I thanks all those involved with the forthcoming Squash and Racketball Singles Open tournament in July and urge people to take benefit of the early entry discount (by end May) as entries are selling quickly. It would also be fantastic to get numbers for the function on the Saturday night - tickets now available in the bar.
