Re events schedule to end 2022

A good variety of events on the calendar to bring to your attention, but before then, a reminder that the Club remains open throughout the August Bank Holiday weekend – so no excuses. Also, to mention at the top that we urgently require a cleaner for the downstairs area every Saturday and Sunday 8-10am . Know of anyone? Let me know by replying to this message. Thank you.

So, starting with the main sporting event next month...

  • Grantham Open Doubles on Saturday 17th September being organised by Martin Gibson and run together with Mark Oakes - four entry grades including one for mixed teams, now is the time to enter by contacting Martin on gibson_martin@sky.com or completing the form behind the bar. We are hoping for a strong turnout after the Covid cancellation in 2020 and ask you to help by entering as early as possible, so the order for shirts can be placed in good time. Sarah Brown will be providing a wholesome and healthy meal on the day for players and spectators.

  • The following day on the 18th there is due to be a regional U11 - U19 squash tournament , so please come along to watch during the day. Sarah Brown again providing food.

  • One item sure to tempt lots of members...a trial monthly fitness challenge starting Sunday 25th September at 1pm. Each session lasting an hour with teams competing against each other and themselves on challenges using facilities at the club. The first session is a cardio circuit - an excellent workout for all members (i.e. both gym and squash). Spaces are limited, so if you would like to take part, please message Helen (squash) 07788.810410 or Pacie (gym) 07900.365371.

Room for these social events in your diary?

  • Friday 23rd September 7.30pm - the first of Sarah Brown's much awaited Supper Clubs featuring a 3-course meal. Future dates: Friday 21st October; 25th November.

  • Club AGM to take place on Wednesday 12th October at 7pm at the Club. A presentation will be made on the night to Keith Paddock and Sonya Toulson, our long-serving Club managers, who are still very much part of it.

  • 14th October President v Chairman competition - all formats of the game available over the evening.

  • President's Evening 19th November – a social dinner for anyone associated with the Club down the years (hosted by Sarah Brown).

  • Dinner & Dancing by Sarah Brown Saturday 10th and Friday 16th December – details on noticeboards.

  • Club Christmas Party on Friday 23rd December, an early note for your diaries.

Finally, we are making you aware that the Club has a new Risk Assessment, which is attached, and shortly to be found posted on our website. Please take time to view and familiarise.

  • Login and check you email address is correct.
